ABOUT US
'Down the Woods' is a exciting initiative founded by Caroline Langley in 2008, with the initial aim of providing Forest School to the children in Hertfordshire.
From its foundation, Down the Woods has built a well established track record and solid reputation, of providing quality Forest School, as well as a varity of other exciting services to the community within Hertfordshire and beyond.
All the Down the Woods Team hold DBS certificates, and are outdoor first aid trained.
VISION & MISSION
"Down the Woods' Forest School" Vision Statement is to give every child the chance to experience this wonderful learning opportunity.
Using the Forest School ethos will help the children improve their understanding of nature conservation and its impact on the local area. Forest School has been particular successful with children by:
• Visiting the same local woodlands children learn about their surrounding natural environment.
• Learning how to handle risks during challenging activities.
• Learning to use their own initiative to solve problems and co-operate in a different environment with others.

"Down the Woods" runs a Forest School initiative for children in Hertfordshire.
Caroline Langley worked as a Nursery Nurse for 15 years, as well as a play leader at various settings. After completing her Forest School level 3 qualification, Caroline decided that the children in Hertfordshire would benefit from Forest Schools, and with this aim Down the Woods was founded.
